The time has come for me to share something with you. After much careful thought and consideration, I have decided to no longer play drums in the AJ Rafael Band. Now, I know this may come as a shock to some.. But I ask that you please not be sad. It certainly wasn’t an easy decision to make; however, I am looking forward to what’s to come in this new direction of my career and life.
I’ll never forget these last two and a half years playing with AJ Rafael and the AJR Band. The shows we played, the people we met along the way, the experiences we had… those are priceless to me. To all the fans who ever came out to see us play a show - from throughout the mainland US, to Hawaii, to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines, to Australia: it was a joy and a privilege to get to perform for you guys. Also, thank you to all of you who have purchased and listened to AJ’s Red Roses album. We put a lot of work and love into making it (producer Jesse Barrera as well), and it means the world to have continually had so much support from you all. From the bottom of my heart… thank you.
As for what I’ll be up to in the future, I will be working hard and playing as much music as I can. I promise to check in more regularly online and keep everyone updated. You might even see a video from me every once in awhile.. ;) Also, I’m back in school now, which I’m very excited about.
I wish AJ the best on his upcoming tour and with all of his future endeavors. To AJ, Andrew, and Noah: it was an honor playing with you guys, and I have so much respect and admiration for each of you - as musicians, friends, and brothers. We had a great run. To borrow a quote from the movie Garden State, “I’m not, like, putting a period at the end of this, you know, I’m putting, like, an ellipsis on it.”
